Director of Production

Location: Brooklyn, NYC (hybrid)

AV&C is a globally recognized experience design studio, creating digital landmarks in the built environment. 

Our interdisciplinary team of artists, designers, technologists, engineers, developers, and producers delivers responsive and expressive installations that build meaningful relationships between our clients and their key audiences.

 

Job Summary:

AV&C is seeking a Director of Production to lead our production and project management team in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of complex creative technology installations.

This leadership role is responsible for strategically guiding project execution, managing staff, and overseeing departmental operations to ensure excellence across all client-facing work. 

Reporting to company leadership, the Director of Production works closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that scope, schedule, and budget outcomes are aligned with client and Company objectives.

This is a full-time position based in NYC. AV&C is a hybrid environment, currently at a minimum of 2 days in office.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support our team of producers and project managers, providing training, feedback, and long-term professional development.

  • Oversee day-to-day and long-term planning across all active projects, ensuring alignment of budgets, schedules, and resourcing with business objectives.

  • Guide internal processes for project forecasting, reporting, change orders, and risk mitigation.

  • Ensure projects are consistently delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to a high creative and technical standard.

  • Collaborate with the sales team in their development of project budget, timelines and scoping during the pitch and sales process, including follow-on scope and change orders.

  • Serve as an escalation point for project-related issues, helping navigate client, vendor, and internal challenges.

  • Actively participate in departmental hiring and long-term staffing strategy in relation to our capacity to deliver projects.

  • Evolve and champion our project processes.

  • Cultivate and maintain a strong network of vendors, freelancers, and subcontractors.

  • Negotiate and oversee project resource contracts and scopes of work.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience producing large scale multi-disciplinary projects within a design, technology, or creative professional services context.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Comfortable interfacing with senior clients, executives, and stakeholders.

  • Proven expertise in setting up, using, and maintaining tools and worklows for project planning, resourcing, utilization and tracking.

  • Familiar with experience design and related disciplines, and able to articulate their value to project clients and partners.

  • Firmly grounded in the world of design, technology, contemporary arts, and culture.


Benefits & Compensation:

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, within the range of $160,000-170,000 per year
